Gulf Power customers enjoy one of the lowest electricity rates in the nation. That's good news as we move further into the 21st century, with customers purchasing and consuming twice as much electricity as they did in the 1950s.

We've taken the lead on energy conservation by developing the GoodCents® Home Program. We identified a list of the most effective building methods, called GoodCents® Features, and developed a set of guidelines for construction and equipment, designed to reduce your home's energy requirements.

GoodCents® Homes offer superior quality and performance while addressing the need to preserve our natural resources. The program has been used by utilities nationwide and more than 750,000 homes have been built to GoodCents® standards.

If you are building or remodeling your home, we encourage you to use GoodCents® Features to help you conserve energy and dramatically reduce your heating, cooling and water heating cost, as they typically consume over 70% of energy used in a home. Along with saving you money on your energy bill, the features will also enhance the resale value of your home and make it a more comfortable living environment.
